The Virgo personality is most concerned with craftsmanship, service and purity, there is a fascination for puzzle solving, fine detail and understanding how systems work, any system.

Whatever they’re  interested in, be it mathematics, music, medicine, gardening or sports, the Virgo personality constantly strives to increase their knowledge and skills in that area. Perfection is their goal and  they are tenacious in the pursuit of it.

Virgos prefer themselves and their environment to be organised and efficient, everything running smoothly and at an energetic pace. When a Virgo casts their critical eye over a situation within seconds they’re calculating ways to improve it, organise it, optimise its potential. This is the sign of the artisan, not in the ‘art for art’s sake’ manner, but for the practical improvement and elevation of the human condition and soul.

They are often accused of being neat and tidy to the point of having an OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and while this may be true of some, if it’s more efficient for Virgo to have everything in a mess, then that’s what  they’ll have. For example, a Virgo student may prefer to surround themselves in a higgledy-piggledy pile of easily accessible books, rather than line them up neatly in the perfectly good bookshelf beside them. It’s all about being part of a well-oiled machine, contributing to the greater good and making sure that problems and obstacles are either avoided entirely or negotiated with ease.

Virgo is an Earth sign, so they are not really fussy and prissy, just efficient. They are adaptable and pragmatic.  It’s in their personal and romantic relationships that we really get to see the Earthy side of the Virgo personality, they aren’t pushy or flashy, but they do crave physical affection and attention. They are often reserved and demure and don’t go in for public displays of emotion or passion, but get them alone and Virgo could teach any of the other zodiac signs a thing or two about how to ignite sexual desires until they’re burning at a white-hot heat!
